F. & F. in F for drama, is an acoustic installation that proposes fragmented sounds on three separate audio tracks to which we have no access simultaneously because they are impossible to take in as a whole. Among the sound sequences constructed around the musical note of F (Fa) one hears fragments of F. Schubert, F. Chopin and G. F. Händel. An action that parodies appropriation, with an atypical romantic content that has lost all its meaning within the spectacularity of the present cultural scene.

In September of 2008, Pep Agut asked me to do a work for an exhibition at ÀNGELS BARCELONA. He suggested that the piece I presented should not be too long. WE left it at that, a piece of diabolical acoustic precision: the chosen space is occupied by two loudspeakers suspended from the ceiling a certain distance apart; beneath each loudspeaker, a cubic rectangle and a pair of earphones. Everything is off-centre, including the spotlight. The sound coming through the loudspeakers is  a mix that includes the typical melody of Big Ben. If you put on the earphones, through one pair you get chosen fragments of Chopin, on the other pair you get Schubert; but you also hear the mix from the loudspeakers because the insulation on the earphones doesn’t prevent it. After a minute and a half, back to the start. You can never hear the full piece: the earphones give out different sounds and they are far apart.; if you put on these you hear one part, on the other pair you here the other part, if you don’t put either on you hear the sound of time (Big Ben) in the background, and if you go outside you hear the timeless background noise of  the street.
