Vicens Vacca is showing his recent work DOUBLE QUARTET. To be hung on a wall, the piece is an assemblage of four chairs in the shape of a cross, built to support 4 transistor radios that have been modified to automatically undulate the volume of the sound they emit.
The four radios, modified for four different durations of silence and sound, tuned to four different radio stations and sounding all at once, generate an acoustic climate that is perpetually changing and out of control.
DOUBLE QUARTET, an improvised structure for an unforseen use with an unforeseen sound and an unplanned result that fugues in four directions.
